OH MY GOD! This should NOT be this hard! I did this back in 2014, when I knew a lot less about Machinekit and the Bone. But, the only way it seemed I could get this to work NOW was just copying over files from that 2014 system. I'm amazed this even worked, but it did. I had to copy prussdrv.o to the local directory and libprussdrv.a and libprussdrv.so to /usr/lib of the new system. (I tried to set up a makefile to compile prussdrv.c, but there were symbol defines and includes missing.)
Anyway, I have now compiled a c program that uses the prussdrv calls to start a PRU program and send data back and forth through the shared memory.
