I saw the same thing. After a short period of working over the usb0
gadget network interface, the whole system seemed to slow down. Little
things like typing a key would take a second to echo back, and
installing a single package or rebooting the BB could take minutes.
If the USB cable is unplugged, the system instantly speeds up again like
magic.
Backing down to the TI 4.9 kernel resolved the problem. I'm now trying
out different kernels to see which works best.
