Yeah the idea is to run Nuttx on a stm32f103 or better with the Machinekit Hal. It will be a real low coast application (lower coast than a bbb) you can really easily buy a stm32f407vgt6 for exemple for about 15$ and there is 1 mo flash and 168mhz. If you add an FPGA to the STM32 like a spartan 6 you could create the best cnc driving solution in the world and the cheapest.
