Which reminds me, I cannot help but sing the praises of Terry's Tech Service
based out of Parkhill, Ontario about 45 min NW of London (well, he's
actually out on a farm just outside Parkhill). Even *with* shipping, the
cost of repairing our laptop was less than what CPUsed charged to *look* at
it (plus, I've never seen a computer problem that Terry couldn't fix...
well, if it was worth fixing, he's the first to tell you that fixing
something big on a Mac Plus (or iMac Rev A for that matter) probably isn't
worth it (but he'll do it if you really want ;)).

<http://www.terrytech.on.ca/> (PS don't rely on his web site for too much
unless the web page actually says it was updated in the past month... he
doesn't pay much attention to it)

I've been availing myself of his services since 1992 when I had a stuck
shift key on my Mac SE's keyboard. The local Mac stores wanted $100 just to
look at the keyboard and wouldn't guarantee they could fix it. A new
keyboard would've cost $130 so that was a non-sequiteur. I took it to Terry
and for $6 he popped off the switch and soldered on a new one. $1 for the
switch and $5 for the 8 minutes it took him to do the work. That keyboard
would still be in use today if it weren't for someone spilling beer on it
three or four years ago.

Eric.
