I, too, am perfectly able to work without X -- especially if GPM is
running -- but also prefer to use X to read the LFS book in a
graphical web browser and cut and paste into a terminal. Not
necessary, but very helpful. :-D

Well, the current LiveCD uses XFCE and Seamonkey. Perhaps a new one
could do that too?
