I just downloaded live555 and compiled it on my mandriva 2008 machine. I was able to compile it with out any problem. When I run openRTSP to stream from a darwin server, I could not play the video-MP4-ES-1 file. The command line I used to stream the video is ./openRTSP rtsp://192.168.0.5/sample_100kbit.mp4
