[EXTERNAL EMAIL]

On every single PowerEdge R640 I have, whenever I run 'dsu' (running RHEL7) and
there are other firmwares to update along with a BIOS firmware update, on
reboot the POST tells me that the BIOS image that I staged is corrupt and I
need to press F1 to retry boot. This always works; with manual intervention
(thank goodness for SSH iDRAC access and console redirection) I can boot into
the OS. Once there I re-run 'dsu', select the single remaining firmware update
(the BIOS), reapply it, reboot, and the update proceeds as it should.

I've yet to work out which firmware updates, when applied at the same time as
the BIOS update, cause this corruption in the staging of the BIOS update, but
it's getting pretty tiresome at this point, and extends downtime on the
services these servers provide by a good ten to fifteen minutes.

Anyone else have this issue, and a solution?

Ben
