Thanks Jon, As spooky as the problem appeared on Saturday, it dissapeard just this morning...
It certainly was not a problem of Licq, because Kopete and Kxicq could also not connect while I was trying to. But only Licq 's network-window gave hints on what went wrong. As you did presume, login.icq.com was ping-ponged between only two IPs which both could not connect.... btw: I am running Licq 1.2.0 rpm on SuSE 8.0 with KDE 3.0.4 . Since I have updated from KDE 3.0.3 to 3.0.4, I only can start Licq with the -- -noxim parameter. It works this way but I get unregular crashes every once in a while. Licq just dissapears from the screen and the shell hints an "Out of Memory"-Error... I must admit, I have not had one of those since my old Commodore 64 days ... *smile For me, this is more an annoyance than a problem, so just for the record. Licq is the most powerfull, evolved and complete IM-client for Linux, that I know. So I end this with many thanks from a humble non-coder! :-) Werner Jon Keating schrieb: > Yes, I have this problem a lot of the time. It's usually with only > one ICQ server.
