hi

this is not licq related, but an icq question in general, perhaps somebody knows
something.

how many connections does the icq server allow from one IP?
is there a connection/user or connection/IP limit?

we currently have the problem (since 2 days) that nobody can get an icq connection
anymore. we are behind a single IP (NAT) and about 300-400 people.
the server can be pinged and traced, no connection problem that way.

licq only says:
[SRV] ICQ server found at 64.12.200.89:5190
[SRV] Opening socket to server
[WRN] error during receiving from server socket :-((
        Connection reset by peer
[SRV] Dropping server connection

now i've had such a problem with licq quite a time before (when i did a "update all
users" on my contact list, seems it made a DoS and the icq server dropped my
connection).

it is not yet known what the problem exactly is (whether it's our admin's firewall
config or the icq server dropping our connections). maybe our firewall doesn't handle
all those connections anymore?!

are the icq servers having problems at the moment (can you connect? i can't test
anyhwere else at the moment), or are we too many people connecting with one IP?

thx,
J.G.
