It might be possible to make licq periodically try to make a direct
connection to them to see if their client responds, but that would be
like walking up to random people and pulling at their beard to see if
they're one of your friends dressed up.

I noticed that invisible clients tend to send a lot of "I am offline"
packets.
I'm not sure if it got fixed by icq 200x or not.

"Hello, I'm being invisible here! Look, you can't see me! Hello!" :-)

I don't " care for the beard pulling" I don't like long beard. + it is not nice to pull it .ah ah ...
there was a  program that you can use in ICQ and you can see people in invisible mode .
One of my net friend  in the list was     and is (  I think  )    using it now...  as a matter of fact it is since 99 that  HE  is talking to me in invisible mode and talk to me even when I'm invisible..
( I know because He gave it to me years ago when I was still using window )but......
But anyway, as a was saying , that it's what I will like to be able to do.. (if you let me , of course. ;-) )  but thanks anyway.
I know that there are more serious "stuff" going around, then be able to see people in invisible mode..and I know it..My husband is an officer in the A.F, and work inside the Pentagon,( right were they had put the flag, after)  He is one of the lucky one to make it!! some of our friends didn't....
so as you can see Licq for me sometime is  more then a chat, it's a stress reliever.. and starting from next summer we will be back  to Italy for a tour of 2 years, so I will need LICQ more then ever to talk with my kids here. so you all keep up the good job, OK?????  ( sorry for all this nonsense.)
anyway thanks all  of you that work on it..
ciao take care, Grace
