Normally one issue per Bugzilla report please. The Iconview of Paragraph Styles (PS) is an oversize visual representation of the styles. It is an alternative UI representation for the drop listbox of paragraph styles used elsewhere in the UI. Its organization into a 3 column 3 row scrollable gridbox was to allow it to fit on the Notebookbar Tabbed UI. The other Notebookbar flavors still use the listbox GUI. Perhaps try one of those NB options, or our Standard toolbar, menu and Sidebar UI An actual click selection of the one of the PS "previews" will apply to a selection of paragraphs made from the document. Dynamic "reformatting" of the selection from the document would be non-performant and has been rejected when requested in the past. Likewise for dynamic preview of font assignments bug 112324. A dynamic preview of changed PS on mouseover would be non-performant and of questionable value. Actual click selection to apply a PS is our norm. Rework of the PS icon size and positioning on the NB Tabbed UI is possible, but not clear there is any real advantage of using additional horizontal space available on the Tabbed UI's Home tab for additional PS preview icons. A horizontal filmstrip slider, or a pop-out dialog offers more meaningful space to work with the previews.
