I have been looking at fdo#56243 "Libreoffice Base: Bogus query for
MySQL database" [1] with a view to advancing its status from
UNCONFIRMED to ... well, uh, that is what I am asking about.

The alleged bogosity is in selection criterion 'WHERE 0 = 1'. I have
grown used to seeing this kind of thing in ODBC log files. I take it
to mean that LO wants merely the metadata of the result set. I am
confident that this is not a high priority bug, and I doubt whether it
is a bug all.

The bug report raises another point: Base opens a table without a
primary key read-only. So this report is merely a particularization
for MySQL of the general situation described in RFE fdo#56242
"Libreoffice Base should handle tables without a primary key better"
[2]. The same reporter filed fdo#56242 and fod#56243 on the same day,
with fdo#56242 blocking fdo#56243

Advice welcome.

Thanks,
Terry.
