--- Comment #2 from Fabbian <[email protected]> ---
I thought that is what I did in steps 7, 8, and 9.

I reset the default style and created a new spreadsheet. Font is Liberation
Sans, size is 10 point, row height is .18". Checking or unchecking the
"Default value" box doesn't change it.

Next I selected "Styles>Manage styles" from the menu. That opened the Styles
sidebar deck. I right-clicked on "Default" and selected "Edit style" from the
context menu. I selected the "Font" tab, changed the font to Times New Roman
and the size to 12 pt. I clicked "OK". The height of the rows in the
spreadsheet changed to .21".

I chose "File>Templates>Save as template" from the menu. In the "Save as
template" dialog box I entered "My default" for the template name, chose "My
Templates" as the category, checked the "Set as default template" box, and
clicked "Save".

When I created a new spreadsheet the font was still Liberation Sans, the size
had changed to 12 point, the row height changed to .21" when the "Default
value" box was unchecked and .18" when the "Default value" box was checked.

Please tell me how to change the font and font size in the default style in a
way that works. Before you tell me, please test your method to be sure it
works. Thanks.
