Description:
The names of commands in Tools | Customize | Keyboard (and I assume elsewhere)
are frequently internally inconsistent and sometimes poorly and confusingly
named. For example (using default bindings):
Down - To Line Below
Up - To Top Line
The description of down is clear and sensible, but the description of up is
both confusing and inconsistent. "To Top Line" doesn't make any sense -- top
line of what? The paragraph? The page? It should be "To Line Above."
Similarly:
Left - To Character Left
Right - Go Right
The description of the action bound to left is clear; "go right", while
understandable, is less precise and minimally inconsistent.
Home - To Line Begin
End - To End of Line
Both of these are fine, but they are inconsistent: it should either be: "to
line begin / to line end" or "to beginning of line / to end of line."
Page Up - Previous Page
Page Down - Next Page
The usual oppositional pairs in English are "last/next" or
"previous/following."
These are simply the ones I've noticed at first glance. There are many others
that either don't appear to function or don't function as the name would
suggest. (E.g., Select to Document End/Begin in the middle of a table cell only
selects to the beginning of the cell, unless you're at the end or beginning of
the cell, in which case it selects to the beginning/end of the table, or, if
the cell is empty, the whole table.)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Tools | Customize | Keyboard.
2. Peruse the names of the commands and compare them to each other and to what
they actually do.
3.
Actual Results:
Commands are named inconsistently and confusingly.

Command names should be consistent and clear.
