I am all for dropping 0.8, but there might still be need of additional
point releases. Just drop the 'final' clause
With our new release schedule, maintaining more than 3-4 trees is ultimately
untenable. We don't have the resources.
When release/12 comes out, we'll have rels 9 through 12 to support, plus HEAD.
That's why I was suggesting to call 'final' release 10. Since 11 is
100% compatibile, we can invite downstream users to update to 11
instead.
