Hi Bruce,
On a Native English speaker console (i.e., missing the
'/etc/sysconfig/console'):
[]$ ./console
Usage: ./console {start}
So it has passed my stringent test with flying colors.
FWIW, I had to remove the CR's from the file you attached.
No problem in these Perl days.
