Dear Sir/Madam,
When we try to translate this book to Chinese, we find some first
letter in Proper nouns such as the s in systemd and the u in udev
which should be written in lowercase rather than uppercase.
Sincerely,
Martin Qi
Hi Martin,
I'm the coordinator of the french translation. We have set up a
translation server where we can easily translate the book together. We
have found that it helped a lot, especially with reviews and when
translators cannot work everyday. You can see it here for the French
part: https://translate.linuxfromscratch.org/fr/. You can see the result
there: http://fr.linuxfromscratch.org/view/lfs-svn.
We track the development version of LFS and BLFS so we can publish our
translation shortly after the English one. Usually that takes us about
10 minutes of work each day, and we can publish stable versions about 1
day after the English one. We also have some automatic translation for
some sentences that appear very often, which helps a lot reducing the
translation effort.
I'd love to see the Chinese version on this site too, even though that
would require some tweaks in our work-flow to support more than one
language. What's your translation's current status? Would you be open to
discussing this matter? Maybe on IRC? In case we need to synchronize,
I'm in Paris timezone, UTC+0200.
Kind regards,
Julien Lepiller
