Pete,

Apparently not. When run at /usr,

# find . -name ledger_web -print

returns nothing (and I looked in those two directories, too, just in
case my find command was off).

http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=ruby&searchon=names&section=all&suite=squeeze-backports
doesn't list a full ruby backport AFAICT (Stable is squeeze). Could it
be that you've used something in ruby that's not in 1.8.7?

I started to try to upgrade, but I found
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4690399/how-to-install-ruby-1-9-2-on-debian-lenny
and got a bit confused. http://packages.debian.org/stable/ruby/ lists a
ruby1.9.1-full, but someone on stackoverflow said to go to 1.9.2
instead. Then there's talk about using rvm--or preferably not. Before
I try to figure out how to upgrade, I'll await your answer if you used
anything special in a newer ruby version.

Thanks,

Bill
