Public bug reported:

(made with ChatGPTs help, everything was tried, as you can see)

Video works, but audio is silent until I physically unplug and reconnect
the dock. After that, HDMI audio plays correctly.

Audio sink (e.g. Philips UHDTV) is visible in ALSA and PipeWire, but
aplay reports set_params:1398: Channels count non available, indicating
the HDMI audio path is present but not properly initialized.

This issue is not present on older Dell Precision models using the same
dock and OS, so it appears to be a firmware or HDMI-over-DisplayPort
initialization problem specific to newer hardware.

I have:

    Fully updated firmware via fwupdmgr

Tested reloading audio drivers, restarting PipeWire, reinitializing
the dock via sysfs — none help

Verified this occurs only on first connection; replug fixes it every
time

Please advise if logs or further hardware info would help.
