Public bug reported: [Impact] Plug 2 monitors on the dock, and connect the dock to the machine, only one or none of the 2 monitors works.
[Fix] The issue has been fixed in 6.12.13, and after bisect the first bad commit on the stable kernel is f488b53b54435 drm/amd/display: Reduce accessing remote DPCD overhead [Test] 1. Plug dock the the machine 2. Plug 2 4k@60hz monitors on the dock, and both monitor should work as expected. [Where problems could occur] It reduces the necessity of calling dp_get_link_current_set_bw(). The worst case of this may be it doesn't re-caculate the bandwidth when needed and doesn't enable DSC which may reduce the external monitor's resolution or the framerate. ** Affects: hwe-next Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Tags: dcpl jira-dcpl-19 oem-priority ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: linux (Ubuntu Noble) ** No longer affects: linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu Noble) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Tags added: dcpl jira-dcpl-19 oem-priority -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-oem-6.11 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2107439 Title: Cannot recongnize two 4k@60hz external monitors on SD25 DOCK Status in HWE Next: New Status in linux-oem-6.11 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux-oem-6.11 source package in Noble: In Progress Bug description: [Impact] Plug 2 monitors on the dock, and connect the dock to the machine, only one or none of the 2 monitors works.
