Title:
UEFI dbx does not appear to do anything

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Like everyone else I have the UEFI dbx updating message at system start (I
should say after a 'Suspended session'. It did not appear when I rebooted the
machine.
I clicked to update the UEFI dbx the first time I saw the message a few days
ago and was waiting for a message or something to show progress or whatever but
nothing came. I did notice that my processor was running at full belt after
running the command 'top'. I had my browser open so closed it. The only other
processes running that I had initiated were to do with desktop environment -
Compiz and Emerald. All other processes were system ones as far as I could make
out.
One oddity in all this was that a partial browser window was stuck on the
desktop. I killed this window with 'xkill'.
The computer sat there humming away at what sounded like full speed. I wished
I had invoked Conky!
So, as it stands I get this message about updating UEFI dbx and nothing
appears to happen. What should I do? How do I stop the message from appearing
if nothing happens when I click the message to supposedly start an update?
  Thanks.
Oh, looking for this in existing bugs proves fruitless. I can't believe
no-one else has not reported this yet. It's in various posts on the Internet.
