This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-azure-
nvidia/6.8.0-1014.15 kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test
the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is
solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-noble-linux-azure-nvidia' to
'verification-done-noble-linux-azure-nvidia'. If the problem still
exists, change the tag 'verification-needed-noble-linux-azure-nvidia' to
'verification-failed-noble-linux-azure-nvidia'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Bug description:
  [Impact]

Microsoft has requested for the following bugfix to be backported into
the Noble and Jammy linux-azure trees:

db363b0a1d9e6b9dc556296f1b1007aeb496a8cf ("CIFS: New mount option for
  cifs.upcall namespace resolution")

  [Fix]

Backported into the Jammy/Noble Azure trees by fixing various context
conflicts. Cherry-pick into Oracular as well due to the rollover.

  [Test plan]

  Build tested only.

  [Where problems could occur]

The changeset is relatively self-contained, so the regression risk
  seems relatively low.

  [Other info]

  SF #00405264
