And now I just turned off my computer for let's say 5min. I turned it on with only the DP plugged in: - black screen on the G9 - integrated display flashing
=> I plugged back the hdmi into the dock: - the G9 now works once more - the secondary monitor (with hdmi) was being detected but disabled => I closed the laptop: - both screens work perfectly now... I don't know what to do anymore... Your explanations are really detailed and precise but everyday I face what seems to be random issues and I lose 30min to 1h of working time before the screens work well... And after that 30min/1h, it start working once more, while all I did was frantically plug out/in cables on different ports, changing settings, multiple times. In the end, I plug back the cables where they were before and I restore the config like it was before my tests and suddenly, with no reason, it works again On Tue, Apr 8, 2025 at 8:10 AM Daniel van Vugt <2106...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: > It sounds like the dock and the number of monitors are the two main > issues. > > * Your laptop's USB-C port only supports DP1.4, so is limited to HBR3 > which can drive the Samsung G9 at 120Hz true colour (or 97Hz in deep > colour/HDR) under ideal conditions with a perfect cable, but will have > no additional bandwidth to drive the second monitor (unless you limit > both of them to 60Hz). > > * USB-C docks reduce the signal quality, so expect lower capabilities > than just plugging directly into the laptop.
