Title:
Ralink WiFi 802.11 b/g/n chipset not detected - missing driver

Status in Linux Mint:
  Triaged
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
Mint 8 Helena's kernel 2.6.31.14-generic seems to be missing the
driver for this WiFi chipset. The driver is available from
http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=2 (get the top one with the
  label "RT3090PCIe Date 02/22/2010 Version 2.3.1.4").

  modprobe rt3090sta

makes the WiFi work excellently. No stability issues seen.

Can Mint add this driver without waiting for kernel upstream to do so?
