Public bug reported:

Hello,

I'm running Kbuntu 18.04.5 LTS and currently have the following kernels
installed which all just show a black screen when booting (occasionally
a single _ is displayed):

linux-image-4.15.0-132-generic
linux-image-4.15.0-130-generic
linux-image-4.15.0-129-generic

I had the issue first with the newer two kernels and the 129 did work. I
uninstalled some older kernels to free space on /boot and reinstalled
the newest kernel. I also installed some other, hopefully unrelated,
packages around php + mariadb. Now 129 is also not working any more
(same behavior).

The recovery modes do work.
linux-image-4.13.0-36-generic is working.

I do have a full disk encryption active.

I also wrote here and got the advice to report a bug:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/695293

Thank you in advance for any help!
