After a fresh ubuntu installation the power off command didn't worked as intended, neither the suspension function, neither the shutdown command via terminal. It appeared to be a problem with ACPI controlators, sadly, editing on /etc/defaut/grub on the line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi=off" also disables wifi and networking in general. The solution was to remove "acpi=off" and instead using, on /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: linux-image-4.10.0-35-generic 4.10.0-35.39~16.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-35.39~16.04.1-generic 4.10.17 Uname: Linux 4.10.0-35-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.10 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Oct 4 00:07:08 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-09-30 (3 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170801) SourcePackage: linux-hwe UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1721182/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
