Feature Overview: a) Name of feature: Update MD RAID drivers to the latest upstream version. Include md/bitmap, raid0, raid1, raid10 and raid456. b) Feature Description: This capability takes advantage of MD's long history and extends it to support the Intel Matrix metadata format (IMSM). MD provides a path to full Intel Matrix feature compatibility with minimal kernel changes. 2. Feature Details: New version of MD-RAID drivers may include: - Bugfixes - Performance improvements - Bad Block Management for external metadata - Partial Parity Log (alternative Raid Write Hole closure solution) a) Architectures: 64-bit Intel EM64T/AMD64 b) Bugzilla Dependencies: c) Drivers or hardware dependencies: - Any RAID supporting Intel HW platforms can be used, e.g. ICH9, ICH10, Ibexpeak, Patsburg, Wellsburg, Lewisburg... d) Upstream acceptance information: MD driver extensions are in active development. Final version will be included in Shaohua Li's GIT repository: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/shli/md.git/ Pull request will be triggered on this Bugzilla.
