cx88xx freezes kernel when using SMP

Bug description:
After upgrading to ubuntu 12.08 (with its 3.2.x kernel), I was not able to
boot anymore without at least one of those kernel parameters:
nolapic
nosmp
maxcpus=1
nr_cpus=1
Obviously, reducing an SMP maching to single core wasn't really funny
for me, so I tried to find the kernel module which was responsible.
Finally, I found this line which is necessary to boot my system with
SMP and without freezing:
modprobe.blacklist=cx88xx

The freeze usually happens at the time when file systems get mounted. If one
filesystem needs to be checked, the system sometimes boots up without problems,
but not always (seems to be a running condition). I didn't find a way to get
more useful log information because the system freezes before files are written
to disk and even with "--verbose" and without "quiet splash" kernel options I
didn't get better information for this bug report.
