** Changed in: bcmwl (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bcmwl in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1042983 Title: 14e4:4315 wl driver does not initialize correctly on boot Status in “bcmwl” package in Ubuntu: Expired Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: On this laptop in particular, the wl driver unfailingly comes up in an unusable state. eth2 is present and shows the right MAC but nearly every command fails with "Invalid argument". To get the wireless card into a usable state I have to unblock it with rfkill (this seems to be important), than unload and reload the wl module. If I were to guess, I'd surmise that the firmware isn't being loaded due to the chip being off at the time the module is loaded.
