** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1056337 Title: complete freeze Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: the system completely freezes say 2-3 times a week. The freeze is complete, I mean: 1) screen frozen, mouse and keyboard don't react 2) alt + f1 won't do anything 3) machine won't respond to ping (normally it responds) 4) cltr + alt R E I S U B doesn't work (normally it works) I am not able to reproduce this bug. There is no particular action or circustances that is evident to trigger the bug. After power cycle, looking at syslog, kern.log and Xorg.{0,1}.log I don't see any meaningful error message. I had a look at bug #993187, I tried kenel 3.3.6 as suggested. I didn't experience any freeze, but I found that kernel to have many other bugs, so I didn't use it for long enough to be sure that the freezes won't occur again. If I can do anything more to provide useful debug information, just let me know.
