If I manually mark the TEST mail as "unread", and then move into "inbox" of "Local Folders", the mail after getting there becomes "read". However doing the same in the reverse direction, i.e. from local "inbox" to a remote account doesn't mark the mail "read"! Furthermore, even within the local account the mail is marked as "read" iff it's moved into "inbox" — not to "outbox", "sent-mail", "trash", or wherever.
