random longer hangs of a single process usually means it's waiting for

you could use strace, gdb or wireshark to chech what's happening
before the freeze
after i made sure that all packages come from the correct repository
(openSUSE's KDE:/Distro:/Factory) and all other dependencies are satisfied
(zypper ve), things are getting worse, even after a few minor upgrades to
KDE packages. now ktorrent hangs on application start, resumes after a few
minutes, but starts hanging again soon. at this stage it's unusable.
doesn't bother me personally since i can use other torrent clients, but
i'm puzzled what's going on.
created a bug report at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297671 with a
backtrace i created via "killall -11 ktorrent" while the app. was frozen.
(installed all debug symbols the crash reporting tool told me to.)
