SUMMARY
kdiff3 opens in fullscreen mode, way to exit fullscreen is missing or unknown.
There is no option to exit full screen mode from a menu.
The reason why kdiff3 opens in fullscreen is unknown, it can happen randomly.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Whenever kdiff3 opens in fullscreen mode, it will keep opening in this mode
until the ~/.config/kdiff3rc file is edited to remove the lines at the end of
the file. For example, kdiff3 worked correctly after removing all these lines:
