I note that it does have an Sorry. Perhaps we are using different Plasma-versions. I reverted to -5.27.11 where session-restore does work for X11 (it does _not_ in -5.27.11.1). Actually Thunar does offer split windows. And for the one window where you need the integrated terminal you could use Dolphin.
