I just tried it, but no. After saving the session and re-logging in, Thunar is
not restored and when I start it manually it doesn't recover the saved
sessions. I haven't tried it with Auto-start. I note that it does have an "open
terminal here" option (which currently fails because of some setting). I
presume it doesn't open a new pane in the same window, though that wouldn't be
critical.
