i can confirm this; i've encountered this problem on my computer, on both NixOS
and Fedora Kinoite. additionally, when i set adaptive sync to "Always", the
screen goes black until the display settings revert. it may be related to AMD
graphics cards, as i am using AMD Ryzen 5560U Radeon integrated graphics
(System Info doesn't get more specific than "AMD Radeon Graphics") on my
computer, however i don't have another computer to test on. the only workaround
currently is turning off adaptive sync or switching to the X11 session. i think
that it also had occurred on Plasma 5, but i'm not able to confirm.
