dragging an icon back and forth, grabbing random others

I am on a Laptop with touchpad and I use the default "icons only task manager"
on wayland.
I have lots of apps pinned, and when I drag one around, back and forth,
sometimes (and I am pretty sure this is not a touchpad issue) it loses the
focus on that icon, grabs another and moves that around. This may repeat and in
the end everything is messed up.
