SUMMARY
Working with split channels following the following tutorials doesn't work
because the merge options :

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Image -> Separate Image (selected options: Curren layer - Create separate
separation from alpha channel))
2. Quick Group layers Blue, green, red, alpha channels
3. Clicking on Layer blending options (as in the tutorial copy blue, copy
green, copy red) doesn't work blending mode remains Normal, and the copy red,
blue green options are all selected.
