It does not, but the behavior on Wayland is even worse. What happens on Wayland
is that the Display Configuration window shows the notification "A new output
has been added. Settings have been reloaded." and then completely re-arranges
the displays. It switches the position of the middle and right monitors for
some reason, and switches the primary to the first monitor, which completely
messes up my window layouts.

I'm guessing by re-arranging the displays and resetting the display
configuration Wayland avoids this notification issue (remember the manual
workaround on X11 is to change the monitor priorities and then change them
back), but the overall behavior of the system is far more annoying than on X11.
