SUMMARY
Almost every single time I boot, I get an entirely black desktop, with no
background image or icons.
Running the following from a terminal fixes it:
$ killall plasmashell
$ kstart5 plasmashell
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. restart the system
2. log in
OBSERVED RESULT
The desktop is black with no icons
EXPECTED RESULT
There should be a background image and icons
I use an external monitor as the only screen, i.e. the laptop's built-in screen
is disabled (and the laptop lid is usually closed) during the whole restart.
I thought I had already reported this but I can't find it. All I could find is
a report against OpenSUSE.
I am using Manjaro now.
I have had this issue forever.
