I didn't notice any speed up from 5.24 to 5.25 I'm not sure this is the case: the Overview effect had it's 200ms value set early on in development and the faster transitions were evident in the 5.24 beta compared to the old Grid in that release. 5.25 brought the new QML Desktop Grid using that shared code, so it inherited the same speed discrepancy. >maybe let more users check it out on the 5.26 release and see if they like it. I am grateful this is getting more community feedback now before it ends up in a wider release, because there may still be an underlying issue.
