Bug ID: 367784 Summary: Thumbnails Disappear After Tagging Product: digikam Version: 5.1.0 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Thumbnails Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org Reporter: 7m...@miniblue.net I inadvertently stumbled into this problem when tinkering with tags. I had selected several pictures and selected a tag (I was actually going to search for pictures with a tag). When the tag (metadata) was applied the thumbnails disappeared. I am not exactly sure how to rescan thumbnails in a selected folder to see if I can restore the thumbnails. The thumbnails do not return if digiKam is closed and restarted. The problem is repeatable. If I select the now thumbnail-less image and select preview, digiKam responds with the message "The storage location of this image is currently not available." The image file still exists in the Windows directory structure and the date modified time appears unchanged. My suspicion is a problem with the thumbnails database, but I am not sure how to go about diagnosing this further. The thumbnails-digikam.db file appears to be updated based on the modification time of the file. My photos folder is located on a network drive (u:\media\photos) and I understand there are issues using digiKam with a NAS. However, this problem did not exist under digiKam 4.12 on Windows 10 (64-bit). (Or earlier versions of digiKam running on Win 10, Win 8.1, and Win XP). Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!
