            Bug ID: 366694
Summary: Widgets are too big on laptop screen (wayland)
           Product: kwin
           Version: 5.7.3
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: wayland-generic
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: igor.pobo...@gmail.com

When I start a Plasma/Wayland session, almost all the widgets (both plasmoids
and ordinary buttons/etc) are having enormous size, fonts sizes are also too
large.

For example: application launcher popup takes all the height of the screen;
calendar popup (plasma widget) takes almost 60% of the screen. It happens even
with KSplash: the "K" logo, which is default splash screen here, is also
significantly larger compared to Plasma/X11 session. Fonts in i.e. Dolphin are
also too large.

Apparently, there is some problem with DPI detection. I've tried looking in
"Display configuration" is SystemSettings, and use "Scale Display" option
there, but the scale is set to minimum and preview shows normal sizes, which is
clearly different from the sizes used.

Reproducible: Always

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to take screenshots on Wayland, so I can't
provide a screenshot; I hope the explanation would be enough.
Please tell if you need more information.
