Same here, 9 seconds delay followed with
ksmserver[1209]: org.kde.kf5.ksmserver: SmsDie timeout, client
"/usr/lib/kdeconnectd" ( 10f913d13514c000162785590000000012090012 )
in my journalctl.
Disabling KDE Connect in the System Tray fixes it for me.
