By simple editing of the keyboard shortcuts, you can reassign 'Set eraser mode'
to Shift+X and then, after assigning an eraser brush preset to number-n in the
ten brushes script, you can reassign its shortcut from Ctrl+Alt+n to the E key.
The facility is there, waiting to be used.
