Updating applets does not need to update Latte also 2. It is much easier to track issues etc. 3. The users in the end they should learn how to install applets from kde store and Widgets Explorer 4. Downloads from kde store give me some free beers in a month 5. The user does not have to install Latte in order to use Latte applets with plasma panels > When you don't have latte-dock you don't have use for the latte applets that is not true.
