We have the support just need to improve it. I'm not a fan of meta bugs. A few dedicated maniphest tasks are much better to handle. My suggestion would be to reset this bug to wontfix. I leave that decision to you. For those asking questions regarding X11: this bug has been open now for 13 years. I implemented this functionality on Wayland years ago. I backported many Wayland improvements to X11. I hope you trust me if I say that our architecture doesn't allow to implement it on X11.
