   Sorry for the slow response.
I am not techie enough to understand all of what you wrote.

I am running Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS

According to my App center, I installed KMyMoney "latest/sable 5.2.70"

It consistently stops after I enter a specific dollar amount as
   "checking account interest."
That is, when I click on the "continue" it momentarily turns orange
but the screen does not change.
I can click "back" and go back to the balance amounts.

The same thing happens in different accounts.

I do not know how to launch this program from the command line

     - Please confirm that is the Developers version appimage from Saturday,
July 4?
     - Can you try the latest version and/or the latest Stable Appimage?
     - At exactly what point in the reconciliation process does it hang?
     - If you launch from command line, what are the last few lines of console
     output?
     Thanks for the additional information.
