I eventually found the root cause.
In the mouse config panel, some time ago, I had seen the keyboard listed among
the devices: "Logitech HID compliant keyboard Consumer Control". I found this
weird, so I've disabled it as it's not a mouse at all.
By re-enabling the device, the media keys are working!

So in principle, the problem is solved.
I let you judge if this behavior is suited or if this is an anomaly. In my
opinion, it's quite illogical and source of error.
