            Bug ID: 513848
Summary: Marked selection doesn't select text while moving
                    prev/next paragraph
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kate
      Version First 25.12.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: application
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
By default kate doesn't have shortcuts for "Start the Marked Selection", "Go to
Next Paragraph", and "Go to Previous Paragraph". Once you choose your shortcuts
for these things, you expect after starting the mark, while you're going to
next/previous paragraph, it selects the text up until the position of the
cursor; it doesn't. You can use arrows to select the target text but it's
exhausting and I wish it worked with jumping between paragraphs.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Choose your custom shortcuts for "Start the Marked Selection", "Go to Next
Paragraph", and "Go to Previous Paragraph" from kate's menu > Settings >
Configure Keyboard Shortcuts...
2. Start to mark (by keyboard shortcut)
3. Jump between paragraphs (by keyboard shortcuts)

OBSERVED RESULT
Not selecting the text

EXPECTED RESULT
Select the text as jumping between paragraphs
